What is the equivalent of Guns & Ammo, but for knives? Is Blade the biggest, and best known?

My favorite is Blade, but you can also check out Tactical Knives and Knives Illustrated. I'm sure there are others, Tactical Weapons has a monthly article on knives. The equivalent of Shotgun News is Knife World. In addition to the articles by Bernard Levine, it also features a good classifieds section, and some in depth articles on antique and collectable knives. Another one you could try is Backwoodsman, sort of a back to the land, trapper, mountain man magazine. Almost every month, they have articles on multitools and SAK's, along with some neat, low price fixed blades.

+1 for all the above. I personally like Blade and Tactical Knives, but I do find that, like gun magazines, its a lot of the same old thing. But with knives there are all those cool customs!

Tactical Knives is the most epensive. Knife World is the cheapest. For the most part, TK and Blade have a few good items, but also a lot of articles supporting the manufacturers who are their advertiser. They both have reviewers that put out about 95% positive information, no real criticism. Knife World is the best for older collectibles. KI seems to have more knifemaker profiles. Blade seems fixated on cutting competitions, but KI can be that way also.

From the knife mags I have seen, all they do is praise the knife. They never say anything bad about it. If I want real world useful oreviews, I come here. What the knife mags need is the equivalent of Outdoor Lifes gun reviews. Tell the strengths and weaknesses, and rate them accordingly.

If you're into handgunning, American Handgunner mag profiles knives every issue. Also Guns mag sister publication of AH has a few knife articles.

They mostly are the equivelent of the Guns & Ammo type mags. All the knives are good, etc. I like Blade and Knives Illustrated pretty good. This forum is the best place to read about knives, but using my computer is a little awkward when sitting on the pot!
