Knife maker recommendation for 06 steel

Hi folks,
I have a custom project and am looking for sugesstions for a knife maker who is very comfortable working with 06 . As you know it is not a steel that is frequently used . Any input would be appreciated.

This is one of the graphitic tool steels developed by the Timken Co. I worked there years ago and there were those who made knives from it. However the graphite makes it a free machining steel and like other free machining steels it has some inherent brittleness .On that basis I've never recommended it for knives.
I would suggest you pick a more appropriate steel .There are lots of steels to pick from.
