I'm not sure if this is the place to post the following, but I hope it is...

I have two knives, both Cold Steel made; a Recon Scout (that has been swedged), and a Trailmaster NIB, both in Carbon V.

These are inexpensive knives that I'd like to have swedged, double edge sharpened, refinished with a bead-blast finish, black Micarta handles installed ala a RMK #14, and Kydex sheaths made.

The Recon Scout was rough swedged by a friend, and passed through a local knife maker of note for finishing work 6 months ago...he has yet to start on it. The Trailmaster has been sitting with the friend that swedged the 1st knife for 3 months now, and it hasn't been started on yet either.

These are intended to be low-cost 'using' camp knives, in this (my) lifetime...but I'm very frustrated by the lack of progress to date. I'm a patient guy, and I'm not asking for much, but this is starting to become disheartening.

So, is there anyone out there that's willing to take these two 'cheap' knives, swedge them, beadblast them, rehandle in Micarta, and make (or have made) Kydex sheaths, and return them to me by the end of the (this) year, for $200 or so, if I pay shipping both ways?

Anyone, please...email if interested...

Thanks in advance,

Mel

I can do it for you No problem But you may not want to go with a Bead blasted finish On Carbon steel it will rust like nothing else If you insist on it though I Will do it Email me if The job isnt taken

Good point, a scotch-brite, satin, or anything other than polished would probably do, as these are going to be users...

The Micarta type handles are important, but anything with a grip would do as well...something grippy, nuclear proof, and able to take some abuse...

Let me get the knives back first, and also give the other guys here a shot at them too...I'm looking for someone with a little time that'll be thinking 'Hey, this'll be fun, let's practice some new techniques on these user camp knives that don't need to be perfect"...and a turn around time of less than 3 months...

Cool, thanks for your response!
