Do you get materials locally and if so can you make recommendations? For steel, hardware, etc.


Just getting into the craft - there seems to be a few small shops here and there for finished knives, but nothing really for the maker. I would prefer to support local if possible. Most of my research so far keeps leading me to the few big guys in the industry for online purchases.

Mostly order stuff, if you are close to Billings A&H turf has some exotic woods. for steel I go through Kelly Cupples, handle material and hardware Alpha Knife Supply.
