Hi everyone!
I currently live in Quebec City and I was looking for knife makers in the region because I would love to meet one in person and perhaps visit his shop if he allows it.
But it turns out that it is harder than I expected to find someone...Do any of you know some makers in around Quebec City?
Thanks in advance for any help, as always! :)

Jeremie,
Try asking your question on the Canadian section of this forum.
It is not a very active sub forum but some of us Canuck check it out from time to
time . Good luck in your search,
Go to community forums scrowl down and you'll find it

Thank you Hiro-kun for the info!!:D:thumbup: As for the Canadian forum, I was aware of it, but I was just worried that it wasn't active enough to give me an answer.

Hi there
I'm from Sept Îles Quebec about a7 hour drive east of Quebec City if your every in the area look me up ,more than willing to chat with you and I have no problem showing you my shop.
You will find me on Facebook KC Knives.
I don't post much on forum But I do like checking in here .

One thing we southern cousins often forget is that Quebec is roughly the size of the entire east side of the US. If placed on us, it would go from Maine to Georgia and from Norfolk to St. Louis.

"Nearby" means a very different thing up there.

Yep and some of the roads is not the best so driving somewhere it's long. From Quebec City going east.Plus winter time makes it that much more fun.

Well, winter lasts 11.5 months in most of Quebec. Summer is the third and fourth week of August. Global warming may bring you guys and extra week of summer in twenty years, but it will probably also give you ten more feet of snow in the winter.

Hahaha that's so funny but almost true .Plus I do live in about the second worst place in Quebec for the short summer and long winter. We do measure snow in feet here not inches lol.Global warming yep right it's not happen around here.

I'm near Ottawa... still a fair drive from you but i go to NB around 4 times a year. if you're ever in the area drop me a line. my shop isn't great but it has some decent home made fixes to common problems so you might enjoy it. I haven't been to a shop yet that i haven't learned something

Grumpy grinder.
Yes that about right . And that a nasty road to go up there from Baie Comeau . If you ever pass through look me up if you want I'm alway open for a chat when I'm home .

No sweat , i stop by occasionally with the wife and young fella. nice to be able to know a few makers this corner of the country. The baie comeau road isn't too bad now , they paved most of it. There's only 160 km of gravel road left.

Will next time you pass look me up will be looking forward to it. My moose camp is 20miles of that road right at 301km from Baie Comeau .

I know of Mastersmith Wally Hayes near Ottawa. Worth the drive if he knows you're coming. . Mastersmith Christoph Derringer is in Quebec and he is excellent too. The CKG site is a great resource and I recommend that.I haven't had the pleasure of Kevin's knives yet but the videos and pictures online are very impressive.
. We have some of the best custom makers anywhere. Just don't tell them ;)

Wally is nowhere near Ottawa these days... you'll have to tack on another 8 hours to your drive to find him now. i have been planning on going to visit him for 2 years but it's quite a ways off.
