Hi all,

I'm a new here, i would like to know the steps of knifemaking from bar stock/ plate like 80Crv2 in details.

If i'm live in america, sure not to be missed to greet and meet with them. come from the other side of the world, where no knifemaker to be exist. LOL Thanks for the words man.

Ok, Welcome. Ready the stickies up top as mentioned. There are Books & Utube vids as well. I started with a book years ago when I didn’t know of any knife groups here. By Tim McCreight , Custom Knife making, 10 Projects by a master craftsman.....He has written books from Knives to Jewelry making. There are plenty more from others. you live in Malaysia? It was when I was 13 y/o, I live on the island of Penang.. No Kris Smiths around anymore?

Bidor actually in the state of Perak, but right now i'm based in Kuala Lumpur, been work offshore, too much travel, thats why i'm prefer to seek on the forum. Maybe sometimes i will try to contact him.

Yes contacting him would be a good idea maybe he can refer you to another maker in Kuala Lumpur that you are not aware of.

Well this is dying trade, youngster like me doesn't want to involved or learning traditional things, i can safely say that keris smith is not much.
Day by day, this traditional thing will bury to the ground. Let me know if you come here again.
