Knife Myths for Mythbuster!!!

... not sure how much I can think to test on a shoe.... but........

nope.. got nothing..

Is batoning using a wooden baton actually hard on a fixed blade knife :D

Seriously.. Well maybe this

Cutting silk handkerchief in half in the air.

Blade cutting free falling hair.

Titanium knife going through metal detector.

Damascus is stronger than modern steels and will cut other steel and rocks without loosing its edge.

How about a myth about the recent controversial article that claims, aged steel cuts better than newly produced steel.

I know it's been done before, but how about a blade cutting a fired bullet in half? High speed video and all that jazz...

Here's another vote for severing the silk handkerchief in mid-air. The way I heard it as a kid was the silk was tossed in the air and allowed to fall onto the sword held stationary. I'd really like to see that!

I want to see them beat on some INFI!

Instead of those POS swords that they always use... lol

I'd love to see them show just how far a good blade can be bent from center and still return. And how far without breaking.

How about "knife jumps out of pocket and kills it's owner and everyone else in the room in bloodlusting rampage". :D

testing things with extreme sharpness (cutting free falling hair, silk, etc) would be hard, unless they got someone to sharpen it who actually knew how to sharpen. they would probably just use factory edges though.

i do like the aged steel one however, and the sharp knife is safer than a dull knife.

i know they did the bullet cut in half thing, but i'd like to see it with different steels, different thicknesses, and different sharpness levels as well.
