A few times over the years I've posted bits and pieces of articles I've found in the news somehow related to knives. I've decided to begin a thread devoted to the subject of knives in the news. This is intended to be a lighthearted thread... we'll see if it goes anywhere.

From today's Boston Globe:

A 62-year-old man was arrested in Cambridge late Wednesday after he got into a fight last week and slashed a 60-year-old man’s neck with a jackknife at a tai chi class, police said.

“A male victim sustained a minor injury to the back of their neck as a result of a male suspect reportedly stabbing or slashing the victim with what was believed to be a jackknife following an altercation between the two individuals at a fitness class,” said Jeremy Warnick, a Cambridge police spokesman.
I find it interesting to note that the headline of this article, "Man, 62, arrested after allegedly slashing another man’s neck during Cambridge tai chi class," describes an attack resulting in a minor injury as "slashing another man's neck."

It would be so cool if the police auctioned knives used in crimes after the case is closed.

I say we dont start a thread on this...cause then people may get the wrong idea of who we are. We love knives!

It has to be a cheap knife.
I cannot imagine anyone conducts a crime with his knife in a price range of $200-$1000.
;)

A mugger in your town was treated at the hospital following a counter-attack by a knife enthusiast known only as CPP CPP . Police were unable to get a clear descripton of the intended mugging victim from the hoodlum, who was difficult to understand...Doctors said the mugger is expected to make a full recovery...but will have an extra nostril...Does+this+knife+smell+funny+to+you_9ce8fb_5989202.jpg

I think the only kind of crime committed with a knife you'd want would be theft of it and if they've got 'em they're going back to the owner they were stolen from.

No. I'm a weirdo. An aspiring psychopathic sociopath.

Lol. I doubt many crimes are committed with $100+ pocket knives anyway.

I do wonder what happens to knives police confiscate for being "illegal." Such as over the ridiculous 2.5" blade length limit Chicago has. It's ok for me to CC my Steyr but not carry a Spyderco delica? I'm guessing the confiscated knives go into the officers collection.

....you appear to be quite new....and I mean this with the best of intent.....but politics (even in jest) in any area other than the dedicated Political Area here is not accepted by the board (as in the management). I would delete your post at the first opportunity before you start catching some more pointed heat for it.

The concept of this thread (particularly in GKD) is flawed.
