Does it have to be one I already own? Also, not having seen the show, to what kind of rigors are the knife subjected? If a fighting style knife is best, the chimera (which I don’t own) seems like it would be a winner. If toughness is more important, then one of their blades in 5160, like the woodsman or rd9.
Production knives are not allowed at least not yet . But I would go with the SP 53 after a regrind. I don't think the 12 heavy machete would be a bad choice ether.
I didnt know production knives were not allowed as one contestant had a generic internet purchased katana and one contestant had a
Cold Steel Messer Sword.
The katana bent, the Messer sword performed vey well.
What wins, toughness? If so Ontario and Dan Maragni (and Tooj) design and make the toughest production blades on Earth, but they aren’t concerned with the spotlight. Since the rd9 is out of production, would it be allowed? Mine is invincible, couldn’t chip the edge if I tried.
What wins? A strong arm and a sharp tough blade. As yonose pointed out production knives arent allowed. But this was a rhetorical, thetotically question: What Ontario blade would you use on Knife or Death?
I was taking information from post #4, not having seen the show myself. I like the rd9, convex edge, or a woodsman, myself. If shorter knives are preferred, the tak. In fact I carry the two (rd9 and tak mod) piggyback style If I can only take one rig.
