Hi All!
With the various knives discussed in this sub-forum, I wanted to post this thread here. Call me a knife knut or suffering from OCD with my knife collection, but: Does anyone have any ideas about how a dozen knives (and more) can be kept in a sliding drawer?
Basically I have a locking file cabinet which has several drawers. I use the top drawer which measures 27" x 15" x 4" to store my collection. Right now I have about a dozen folding knives, all in the opened position, all lined up in a single row, alternating from satin finish and black finish, all resting on top of an old but clean towel which is folded to fit the drawer length and width.
In the morning when I get dressed, I figure out which one of the beauties to carry. The problem is that when I open and close the drawer, the towel moves, the knives shift, and well, I'd like to try keep 'em straight. (A couple o' weeks ago I posted a thread about matching knives with watches and/or guns (over here.)
So far I've looked at: knife bags, utensil trays, knife blocks, and knife racks.
However all these don't work because I want see the knife blades and handles, not tucked in pockets or slots. FYI at present, the smallest knife is a Swiss Army Knife Recruit, the largest knife is a Spyderco Military.
Any suggestions on a solution to this? Thanks in advance!
