Has anyone tried striping the coating off of their knives? I wanna try it on my hk mp5. Basically an benchmade coating on it. Just wanna see if anyone has attempted it and if there are any tips to make it easier..thanks

I use Kleen Strip from the local Home Depot. Haven't found a coating it wouldn't remove yet,but it may not work on everything. CAUTION. Very strong chemical that WILL burn you. Use only outside and wear long cuff heavy rubber or PVC gloves. Used it succesfully on Beckers and Esee's.

Agreed, only mistake I made was, I didn't follow the directions on the stripper. I thought letting it sit longer would help, quite the contrary. If it says spray down, let sit for 30 minutes then strip, it works well.
