I'm sure this has been covered at some point, but I'd just like to mention how impressed I am by some of the excellent knife photography posted on BladeForums. Whether it's on the Exchange or in the context of general knife discussion, people show real skill. A well-photographed knife really helps "feed the beast" of continued knife interest. Plus, if you're looking to sell, "a picture's worth a thousand words."

Anyway, well done!

Very true. I swear some are just as much photography enthusiasts as they are knife enthusiasts. Some really well done pictures of knives!

I agree. I have come a long way over the past few years with my knife photography and there are many forumites I have to thank for that. My pics used to be pretty bad but they are getting better. I still have a long way to go. There are some extremely talented photographers on here that regularly remind me what an amateur I actually am. I, like many others, enjoy the eye candy. Keep 'em coming!

...plus taking MANY pictures and picking the best ones. Lightroom doesn't hurt either.

I never use processing on knife pics other than cropping. However, I do use Photoshop when doing architectural photography for my company.

And yeah, knives are only one of my hobbies.

Guitar player, music enthusiast, gun lover, photographer, fine spirit connoisseur, foodie...

Sounds like a dating profileo_O:D

I have taken some pictures I've felt were pretty good for my cheap phone and I usually try to take the best pictures I can, but sometimes any picture is better than none at all.

My photography skills aren't up to the level of those who may or may not buy their knives as mere subject matter, but I certainly try.

There are definitely some beautifully taken knife photos posted on this forum, and a big thumbs up to those who took them

Here's one of my favorites

I agree! There are so many very talented photographers on here. I get inspired every time I log on. But don't think you need a fancy expensive camera to get great pics either. I get pretty amazing results from my old iPhone 5.

It's not the size of your lens, it's how you use it.

That is impressive for a phone shot. Quality of light makes a huge difference as well. Tough to beat the ambient light of a cloudy day.

I admit a big part of the fun of knife collecting is taking pics. I use my iPhone and usually just sit in my car to take them. The trick seems to be, take a crapload of pics, then pick the best few. :)
