Knife Pick

So I'm not sure this is the place for this post but I'll start here.

I know I've ended up with quite a few knives where there is at least one blade that sits so low I can't open it easily.

Anyone have any comments on:

- Using a knife pick
- Blades that sit too low to open easily
- Have made you own knife pick

I have used a Winchester brand knife pick for a number of years to open my 'common knives'....I would never use one to open a 'mint' collectable....the Winchester is a lot thinner than that one...and sometimes when you place in the nail nick it can slip out and scratch the portion from nail nick to top of blade...it certainly does the job on hard to open blades,you only have to access the nail nick and bring it far enough to grab the blade and open...has its place but not with collectables IMO...Hoo Roo

If it's a collectible there is no need to open it much. If not, just use the knife in your other pocket to open it. lol

I use a broken muskrat blade with masking tape wrapped around the broken end. Cheap and effective
