I want to share scans of two knives I recently completed. The first has tiger coral handles, Eggerling mosaic bolsters, Meier twist blade, and gold anodized frame. The second one has pearl handles, Cliff Parker mosaic bolsters with matching three bar mosaic blade (twists on the outside), and gold anodized frame.

Please let me know what you think.

Andrew, Very nice work. I got a book about tactical folders by BOB Tetrezula for X mas. I am not into folders But maybe someday I may. Tell me are they any harder than fixed blades. They look complicated.

Thanks guys! Senator, these are folders number 8 and 9. I've been working on number 10 this weekend. I love making folders but understand why some makers hate it. There are alot of small parts and multiple variables in getting a folder to function properly. If something goes wrong with a folder one or more parts have to be redone. An example would be cutting the ramp on the blade. At 10 or less degrees you can't remove too much material or the liner will be sitting on the other side. Vaquero, I think the key to making folders is desire. I don't have a lot of experience or much equipment. I do have a lot of desire.

Andrew:

These look GREAT! I remember my 8th and 9th folders hitting the garbage can. Fortunately, my choice of materials wasn't anything as fancy as on your knives.

Please stop by and see me at this year's Souteastern Custom Knife Show! I'd really like to snap them open and give them the old spine whack test a few hundred times. (JUST KIDDING!)

Otha thanks for the comliment. Tom thanks for the laugh. Tom, I too question the point of snap openings and spine wacking. If I were going to test lock srength on a tactical knife I would get a side of beef and bring it to near freezing temp, and then hack and stab away. Poor cow!
