Hey everybody, I’m working on a liner lock style knife and was wondering how I should do the pivot. I have an 1/8” pivot, should I drill an 1/8” hole all the way through the handle, or should I just drill like .05” or so into the inside for the pivot to sit in. The pivot screws I have are flat head with an 1/4” diameter head that’s 1/16” tall. These in particular https://ticonnector.com/product/14-x-2-56-short-socket-head-screws/
Thanks for the help and here’s a drawing that kind of shows what I’m talking about and the design I’m working on.

Drill all the way through the liners and then I’d use a #41 hole in scales and countersink the for the head of screw. I use the same screws with 3/16” pivots on a lot of my folders

Thanks for the help! Do you see anything else I should change or look closer at? I’m planning on doing in liner less with a recessed lock bar.

Not sure if you are using one, but get a reamer for the pivot and lock bar holes. Drill undersized by .010 or so and ream to size. You'll get a better fit that way.

I do have a reamer, it’s still has a tiny amount of play though, not too bad though. I’ll be sure and post some pictures when I’m down it’s coming together nicely, honestly better than I thought ha.
