I've been asked to put together a collection of knives for a group of Japanese business executives.
My experience tells me that likes and dislikes in the industry differ from one part of the globe to another. Scandanavian pukko's are not necessarily every American's cup-of-tea, French friction folders won't necessarily tickle a German, etc, etc.
What do our Japanese forumites look for in a knife? . . . are there preferences for handle materials, are fixed blades more popular than folders, are springblades more popular than linerlocks, is the hi-tech look in, is damascus in or out, etc, etc?
I'd appreciate your comments.
Many thanks, HILTON
