Knife Preservation question.

Hello.
I am considering dipping my knives in militech to make sure that I get the liners entirely protected.
Does anyone else do this?
Is there any reason I should not give my knives a little bath?
Advise greatly appreciated.

Earlier this week I was talking to the guy in charge of the knife section of a large sporting goods store, and asked him what was good for protecting knives. He showed me a bottle of Militec and said that he used it to wipe down his large blades and swords. I bought a bottle, but have not yet used it.

My question is a bit more specific.
What I'd really like to know if there might be any harm in complete submerging a knife in such a protectant.

I don't know about normal Militec but some Militec Grease got onto one knife of mine and left the G-10 handle stained. Refused to return to the original no matter how much I tried to get it out.

It's not THAT obvious but you can see it under most lighting. Looks like greasy spots on the handle. The color is still black but there is a contrast if you look closely.
