What would you think about a Puma white hunter with stag handle for $14.95? How about a Randall 8-4 for $47.50? A large Moreseth hunter for $16?

I just bought a big stack of old issues of the American Rifleman from the 50's 60's an 70's

Those are actual retail prices from as far back as 50 years.

There is also an ad from Kleins sporting goods in feb 1963 that lists an Italian 6.5 mm bolt action rifle with scope for $19.95 + $1.50 shipping.

If I could get a Randall for that price today I would be mighty happy. In the 60's and early seventies you could get a darn good custom knife for $50.00, so that Randall was an expensive knife in its day.

It'd be great to get those prices as long as I didn't have to work for 50 cents an hour to earn the money to pay for them! ;)

I've got some magazines that go back to the 70's and when I look back and see the price and availability of the older customs I get sick.

I would actually make the concious choice back then to buy beer instead of custom knives :(

I'd have to buy a house for around $1100 from the old Sears catalog to store all those knives if I could get them for those prices!
