kershaw vs. others (bm, spyderco,ect...)
those of you who own, or have any experience with kershaw, and can compare to any other brands in terms of manufacturde quality.

i currently own only one kershaw, a ti leek zdp189. fit and finish are good.

i have found benchmade to have better fit, finish, and materials than kershaw. though some of the newer assited openers are very nice.

For productions, Chris Reeve IS the BEST, bar none. Spyderco makes great knives, with reasonable prices. They also LISTEN to their customer's, which is wonderful, because they actually USE our ideas.

Copy what KnifeCollector said, can't beat a Chris Reeve for quality and build and they have an excellent warranty too. I've owned and continue to own various Kershaw knives mostly Ken Onion designs and I have found them to be of high quality and workmanship in their price range. I highly recommend them. Their warrany department is excellent to deal with as well.

I have a cyclone, and a blur by kershaw. Both are very good, reasonable priced knives. I just finally broke down and bought a Zero Tolerance 302. (which are upper end kershaw) While I wouldn't say I am dissapointed, I think the fit and finish are better on my Benchmade skirmish.

Waddaya want for the money? There's a big price difference
here. I can't justify the best when I'm just trying to get by.

kershaw is good. I dont like assisted openers so I prefer BM and spyderco. All great companies

i love kershaw and think that their fit and finish are excellent. they are getting to using more high end materials now-a-days. just ask Thomas W. about that. kershaw will be as big a knife power house as BM in the next couple of years if they keep going the way they have been for the past year or so. (in my opinion). also, i dont think that you get much better in AO knives. the speed safe system is very well done

i have handled the BM griptillian and personaly would buy it, but it wouldn't be my edc. not that impressed. the BM osborne however is one excellent knife, but costs to much at the present time ($200+ i think). would like to get one though.....

spyderco, im sorry, but i just hate their designs. i've been around the curvy nature of ken onion's designs to much to actually like the spydies. (dont shoot me all of you spydeco nuts, please?).

 All good just different...but I'll pray for your misguided knife soul at my Spydie altar tonight. :D

I own about 4 Kershaw's--but don't really care for them much----they all have a home in the drawer now-----give me a BM--Spydie----or Buck any day.

I used to own two Kershaws: Nakamura and ZDP/Ti Mini Cyclone. Both knives have very good fit and finish and made from top materials. Today I prefer Spyderco for various reasons, but during the last year Kershaw made many improvements in older models and come out with several good new designs.

The Kershaw Ken Onion "Blur" mdl. 1670TBLKST goes where I go. It's a nice little tanto blade which is amazingly handy as a general light duty knife. At ca. $60, it isn't that cheap but worth it in my book after toting it for few weeks. The quartz impreganated scales are easy to grip even with wet hands. It's easy to keep a sharp edge on this knife although I dull mine fairly quickly....as I'm constantly trimming little limbs from trees in the yard and cutting everything from nylon cord to cardboard. The Kershaw finish is good but I'd like to see a tad more durable one on these blades. They scratch pretty easy and this bothers a obsessive compulsive like me.:) :)

Thanx everyone, my new kershaw zdp mini-cyclone is not as nicely finished as my spydies, or benchmades, although it performs as well or better, and i was just wondering if this was normal.
