I need a good quality hunting knife. I'm not quite sure what brand to get, but I've been looking around and seen a few brands. Are Kissing Crane knives any good? I kind of like German knives...and am willing to spend ~200$ on the knife. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Blade Forums.

Wirebender gives great advise.
There are a lot of great hunters out there that will put the knives you mentioned in a seldom opened drawer and a Dozier is at the top of my personal list. You would be amazed at the selection of excellent 200.00 dollar and under hunters.

I would suggest a newt livesay hkr A sog seal 2000. both of thease brands and models are heat treated very well and will hold a edge very well also. you also do not have to give a arm and a leg for them:o

R W Clark makes a real nice hunter for about $150. Check out the Custom forum or Shop Talk. Think he posted a pic of it about 10-14 days ago. I came close to buying it, but simply have no need for it. Every once in awhile I can come to that realization before buying a knife.

Fallkniven F1 is a gem at the price.

2nd the Dozier nomination. I own 7 of Bob's knives. 1st rate D2 heat treat, hollow ground and aggressively sharp slicers.
