Ok, this time, it is between the SG2 Blur and the ZDP-189 Cyclone.

What do you guys like better?

cyclone zdp, like my blur but just got my mini cyclone and like it more! i think i would really like the zdp alot

They both function / sharpen within a point or two of each other.

Having said that, and despite having many ZDP blades as well, I prefer the SG2 for overall performance.

You probably won't detect a noticable difference so your choice may need to be made based on styling and prior exposure.

If it we're me and I was in similar position, I'd order them both and send the one back I liked the least (works well for me).

I'd still get the SG2 instead.

The only real diff I can think of is the Ti scales with black blade finish with a leaf shape on the ZDP cyclone while the SG2 blur has the blade assist with satin finish blade and recurve shape. Good luck.

I don't like the Blur. I LOVE the Cyclone. That's MY opinion.

Ok, thanks. I can only order one, and I really like the looks of both knives, but I think the Cyclone is a little ahead with it's framelock, and I do like how I could turn Speedsafe off.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the Blur is $70-90, and the Cyclone is $135-160.

Yup, the on/off wheel on the Cyclone is a plus, but I also like the flipper on the Cyclone...The flipper is very positive in use, and also makes for an extra "safety" against your hand riding up onto the blade during a hard stab.

If they made a full-size Cyclone ZDP, that'd be awesome. I agree, I think the mini Cyclone ZDP is the better knife.

The steel's VERY close, but I think the frame lock on the Cyclone, along with its more ergonomic handle (& higher curve that'll keep you finger from sliding onto the blade), gets the nod.

I would've thought I'd like the Blur because it's relatively thin & is sized between the mini & full-size Cyclone. But I find the thumb stud is hard for my "fat" thumb to open the blade. With any of the Cyclone, you have the flipper. :)
