Hi, guys!
I'm trying to store my knives in my gun cabinet, but I'd like to maximize storage space by making use of the vertical area. I've noticed that there are sword racks, patterned after the double katana/wakazashi stands, that will hold a number of swords (the most that I've seen are six, I think). What I'm wondering is, does anyone carry a similar rack for knives? I've seen single knife stands, for display, made out of wood or plastic, that will hold the knife horizontally, in an open position (edge down). I think Cold Steel has some like that, but I'm less interested in display and more in maximizing storage.
If no one makes/carries racks, I'm thinking about making them...pegs, angled slightly up, on wooden boards with feet so that they can stand in a safe. Are there any concerns that I should keep in mind? Fixed or folder (open), racked resting edge down on two pegs...is that a good way to store knives? Is wood not a good idea (moisture?)?
Thanks for your help!
