Another nod for the Paramilitary 2. The reason a lot of people always recommend it is because it IS that good.

gooey is it really that good. i want to add a spyderco to my collection and i was looking at the endura 4 wave but would the para be a better choice

The Para 2 is a fantastic knife. Given the choice I would choose the P2 over and Endura 4. Para 2 has g-10 scales, more rigid, compression lock, S30V steel will hold an edge longer than VG-10, and very ergonomic.

Benchmade 551 Griptilian. 3.45" 154CM blade, 3.9 oz, Axis lock is string and reliable, Benchmade quality, comes in a variety of styles, can be had for under $100, and American made.

Keep the Buck Vantage Pro's in mind. Other makers might include Ontario (Utilitac) and some of the older Camillus models if you watch the exchange.

how much does the vantage force pro weigh? i was looking at those before but i couldnt find a weight and they look heavy

I would say Spyderco Para2.
I own several knives including a Sebenza and this one is still in my top three.

A lot of options that fit you criteria. Paramilitary 2, Manix 2, Griptilian, Presidio Ultra, Mini-Onslaught.

I'll always recommend the Spydies that others mentioned, although Benchmade Griptilian is a must have.

lol i wish i could like posts on here like facebook lol. i already have grip and mini grip, just ordered a paramilitary2 :) but keep the sugestions coming! appreceate it!

The basic Paramilitary 2 has everything most people want in their EDC, a good medium-sized blade in a pretty good steel, hand-filling ergos, solid locking mechanism, light weight, good gripping handle material, pillar construction, high resale value, easy one-handed opening and closing with the oversized thumbhole and compression lock (even with gloves), good jimping and choke-up grip with the finger choil, 4-way clip mounting, and USA-made...whew. If you wanted more from the Paramilitary 2, there are a number of excellent sprint runs as well. yes, it is that good.

The only reason I prefer my Militaries is because they are titanium, and I just love titanium :) When the compression framelock in Ti arrives, then the Para2 might bump my M4 & M390 Ti Millies off their pedestals. Maybe.

You could also try a Manix 2. I didn't care much for the lock, but others love it. The only Manix I have left is the original full-sized lockback.
