I have got roughly about 150$ to spend on a new knife but don't know what I want and want to expand my options. I would love to hear any recomendations on good knives around 150$ below or above. Any recomendations would be awesome. Thanks

There's many many knives for around that price, and everyone has different size hands, cutting needs, color preference, etc.

What I sometimes do out of boredom, is visit popular knife merchants and use the price option (price low to high or vice versa).
And if possible, visit a knife shop or any store that carries knives and hold as many as possible.
It's really best to hold a knife and fall in love instead of buying something and finding out you don't like it.

Folder or fixed blade?
EDC type blade?
What are your preferences other than <$150?
Do you like traditional slip joint type knives (like grandpa used)?
How are you going to use it? Office environment? Woods? Around the homestread? Farm/ranch? Hunting chores? Hiking?

If you are close to Bluefield VA, wander in that knife store and look around? SW VA.... head down to Sevierville TN knife store. Touch and feeling is the best way to choose a knife if you really don't know what you like.

I think I will swing buy the shop that sells some knives near me, just looking for an edc blade but going to the shop will make it a lot easier to see what I like and don't like. Thanks for the advice

Here are a couple entry knives or favorites among a lot of people:

- Ontario Rat model 1 or 2
- Kershaw Leek
- Kershaw Blur
- Spyderco Tenacious
- Spyderco Delica 4 or Endura 4
- Spyderco Para-military 2 (my personal favorite)
- Benchmade Griptillian

Just try out various sizes and handle materials and you should quickly figure out what feels comfortable to you.

Heard great things about all knives on that list (love the pm2 my favorite of my knives) and was actually looking at the benchmade griptillitan, what are your thoughts on it. Thanks

The Grip is an excellent knife, my favorite is the 550HG.

Really like the hollow ground blade, and just the over-all grind.

154CM is an excellent all-around blade steel (much better then S30V in my opinion) the ergonomics are very good, and the Axis lock is not only solid, but a ton of fun to play with....

The handles (almost everyone's complaint) are solid and have zero issues, but they don't feel as solid as G-10. There is a large aftermarket for Grip handles, so that's an option if you don't like them, but I doubt they will be much of an issue.
I had a set of Micarta handles on one of my Grips from Cuscadi, and it made the knife feel like something that was much more expensive than the sum of it's parts in $.

You really can't go wrong with a Grip, and it's usually under $100.00.

I really like the PM2 as well, just not the steel.

Some of the online knife venders have different settings to customize your search. For example, Blade HQ has settings allowing you to peruse knives according to size, cost, material and so on. They're also reliable, as I've ordered from them and never had a problem.

Spyderco Gayle Bradley in CPM M4 one the sharpest knives I've had the pleasure of owning is in that budget.

I enjoy the griptillian primarily for the locking mechanism. Honestly though, I almost prefer my g10 s30v spyderco manix 2. You get a higher quality steel. Plus I enjoy g10 more than the weird grippy plastic thing that benchmade uses. The benchmade is a tried and true knife but unless you fall in love with the lock (very likely) I would look at some of the other options. I highly, highly recommend the PM2. I like it so much I have two now and am eyeing the new blue g10 s110v model that is coming/has come out some places. Let us know what you decide on. One thing to note is that if you get a PM2 and dislike it you can resell it very quickly.
