Knife recommendation for a friend?

My best friends wife has decided she wants a pocket carry folder for when she goes four wheeling. Since I'm their reference for all things cutlery
I'm trying to help her out. Showed her most of my collection so she could see some options. Some customs, along with production models from
spyderco, bench made, zt, etc....

She preferred a partial serrated edge with a lock back as opposed to a liner or frame lock. a blade of 3" or slightly less & not "too pointy". Also
wants the scales to be somewhat "grippy" as opposed to smooth. Cost should be in the $50-$70 range if possible

Any suggestions?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Paul

Yea, showed her one of those and she thought that was still a bit pointy

I'm thinking the spyderco Atlantic salt might be better, even though it's a little more than she wanted to spend. More of a rescue style blade and less "pointy"

how about the Dragonfly, Persistence, or the Squeak? The only other one I can think of that's not so pointy, if at all, is the Balance. That's above the price you suggested though.

Get her a Spyderco Endura 4 or Delica if she doesn't like the size there's the Spyderco Salt I or Ladybug 3. The yellow & H1 steel is ideal for snow. If any are too pointy - that's where your sharpening stone comes into play. Round it up a smidge. :D

Thanks, gooey, but I think only the dragonfly is a lock back model but will show it to her.

Just going by her previous reaction but since she's already reacted negatively to the delica the atlantic salt or the saver salt might make her more comfortable. A little above her target range but we'll see.:)

Maybe a Ka-Bar Dozier... not sure if they come in a PS option or not. After that, maybe a mini-Grip?

Saw the dozier has a combo edge option so that could work. will show that to her to.

Kershaw JYD II. it fits the bill in every respect except for the fact that it is larger than she wanted. another option would be to look at the chinese kershaws. I think that there has to be one that fits the bill.
