Knife Recommendation that I have in mind

I kind of have a knife in mind that I want so I will try to explain it and maybe someone will have a suggestion. :)

No more than 7 1/2 inches overall, but suggestions up to 8 inches welcome as a great knife is worth considering. Blade to handle ratio not important.
Steel: If any carbon steel - 1095 etc, must be coated otherwise stainless steel, Vg-10 would be nice.
The Important part: Thinner knives usually can usually hold a sharper edge, but I want a knife with some HEFT as it were. So a thick blade with some chopping power (I know it's a small knife) but it must be able to take and hold a very sharp edge. I dont want a blunt slab of steel.
Price: No more than $150 less would be nice, but could pay more for a good knife.
Anything else hmm.... Custom or Production doesn't matter although my price probably cancels out custom.

Oh I forgot: Uses: Kind of a bit of everything... But think more bushcraft and some small game prep. like rabbits and also fish and food prep. Bushcraft mainly though. Not a fighting knife or a tanto or anything like that.

Hope someone has an idea! :) Thanks!

Spyderco Bushcraft is a hair longer than you would prefer but seems to fit the bill rather well. The esee rc4 is def worth taking a look at also.

You are in luck . Scrap Yard has both a 511 and 711 available for sale at the moment . The 511 is about 5 1/2" long and just $89 and the 711 is about 7 1/2" long and just $119 . the 511 is 3/16" thick , the 711 is 1/4" thick and both are saber grind for greater strength . Lifetime warrantee that follows the knife , so if you ever sell it the new owner is still covered . SR-101 steel that is very tough and holds an edge well .

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

Both those knives are longer than I want though, the 511 is 10 overall and the 711 is 12.5. Sweet knives though ;) Just dont fit the bill here.
