Hello,

I am looking into a new knife. Not really for any specific purpose, I just want more:D.

Primarily, I want a mid to heavy duty knife. Something with tough handles, liners or aluminum. And a secure lockup with no play, and preferably not liner or frame lock.

I have been looking at the flash 2, but I worry about lockup and the zytel handle.

Im looking to get out under 70 bucks.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I would check out the large Benchmade Griptilian. The AXIS lock is one of the strongest locks on a folder and should not have any play yet very smooth when broke in. I would much rather have it over the Sog.

Lots of new kershaws, though most liner and frame lock. I wouldn't dismiss liner and frame locks to quickly, when done by a good maker there is little to worry about.

BM grip

What else are you looking for? size, style, steel, ability?

I just have a possibly irrational fear of liner or frame locks. But, I havent had much experience with them. I dont mind the CRKT style lock, with autoLawks though.

IM looking for around 3-3.5 inches, the max legal length in my state. Steel isnt a big deal to me. As long at it is decent at edge holding.

I'd check out the kershaw blur first, it can be had in a few choices of steel and I think it about 3.5in.

Composte leek, 3in blade and a CPMD2 cutting edge.

Spyderco delica, personally I like the waved one. Plastic handles though and that's not always to ones liking. very good knife though.
