Knife refurb advice

Looking for some advice on cleaning up this old Camping style knife I got from the antique store. Is it worth cleaning the blades up? There is some pitting in the main blade bit that doesn’t bother me aesthetically. I was also considering filing off the pins for the bail since it didn’t come with one and they poke my leg when in the pocket, I plan on this being my edc. Any advice would help! Thanks.

File the bail pins to about 1/16" above the bolsters. Peen them lightly with a hammer. Then file/sand them flush.
This will keep the blades from getting loose.
