Knife repair question

I bought a Canal Street Cutlery Half Moon trapper quite a while back. Back then I sent it back in for blade play. It came back with no blade play but it has virtually no snap when you open it. The spring barely protrudes at half open. I should have sent it back in back then but didn't. It's a beautiful knife with a stag handle. I know they went out of business a while back. Is there any way I can get it fixed?

I have sent in a handful of slipjoints to have blade play repaired and while they often come back with less blade play, they usually have a little less snap on open and close. In my limited experience, the more you open and close it, the more the knife gets closer to the original "snappiness". If I were you I would open and close it a bunch over a week or so and make sure the joint gets a little oil, maybe that will take care of the issue.

^THIS^
I had a Case Barlow with blade wobble.
I peened the pivot pin and the wobble was gone.
But it lost all its 'snap' open and closed, I guess I peened it too tight.
I played with that knife for hours and days until the 'snap' came back, but so did a tiny bit of wobble.

The repair of the blade play shouldn't have affected how much the backspring moves. Does it have half stops? It is possible the spring is not flush in the half stop position. How much does/has the spring move at 1/4 open?
(not a "big deal" for most if the springs are not flush at half stop, as most folk don't use a knife blade when half opened. A screwdriver blade and/or punch/awl, sure, but almost never a knife blade.)

Have you lubed it since you got it back? I've had a couple new slipjoints that were a bit stiff and were somewhat quiet on open and close. A bit of lube helped a whole bunch.

Keep the joint(s) lubed when you work it ... a drop or three every 20-30 or so cycles. You can always wipe off any excess, along with any grunge that works out.

Sometimes just washing and lubing the joints improves the action/pull, and the walk n' talk, too.

You might ask Eric @ea42 if he has any suggestions. He knows a few things about the CSC knives!

There is no half stop and the pull is pretty weak. The spring protrudes just a small amount at 1/4 open

I took the advice of a few on here and cleaned it really good with WD40 .Worked the blade 30 or 40 times and flushed it with water.
It brought back some snap .While not a really strong snap it is better than no snap at all which is whet it had.

Here is the knife in question

I have a CSC Half Moon trapper. Never had a problem with blade play, but it's never had much in the way of snap. If a Victorinox is a 5 on a scale of 1-10, this would be a 2-3. So I think what you ended up with is about average for that model.
