Hi Guys and Girls
I'm new to this forum or any forum for that matter and just crazy about knives.
I'm situated in England and although the knife laws here are very strict when it comes to carry options, there are very few restrictions to buying/owning them.
Unfortunately there are very few shops that sell knives and/or take them seriously and so I'm restricted to buying on line. We don't have Woolmart or Blade HQ to visit to handle and view knives prior to purchase which has inevitably led me to buying poor quality. I think for every few excellent knives I've bought, generally going by U-Tube reviews, I have ended up with a few really bad impulse buys.
I suppose I'm saying a huge thank you to those of you in the USA who have taken the time to review your favourite knives, or the latest models. It is a huge help to those of us that don't get the chance to handle a knife prior to parting with our hard earned!
There is a major supplier here in the UK, that will remain unnamed for now, who give us the chance to review each knife they stock and this can be a very useful feature, however I have had issue with some descriptions which remain unchanged despite my E-Mails. This is a shame as the next guy is going to have the same problems as me.
I know that the merchants probably buy the knives in and sell them out without checking them. After all it comes down to individual manufacturers quality control, but surely after several sub standard reviews it would be in everyone's best interest if the supplier would give them the once over and make sure they are ok before despatch. Just my own thought but valid I think.
Here is a huge thumbs up to those companies that take the time and trouble to produce some of the most desirable, well designed and pleasing to handle pieces of cutlery in my and our collections.
