Carry an otherwise legal pocket knife in New Jersey and become a felon! If you live or work in New Jersey, please email your legislators today: LINKS BELOW - FULL ARTICLE with Details at: https://kniferights.org/legi.../nj-bills-target-knife-owners

The expected knee-jerk responses by anti-gun rights states and cities to the U.S. Supreme Court's recent Bruen decision upholding the right to carry "arms" for self-defense continues as New Jersey tries to one-up New York and California. All of these new laws and regulations blatantly flaunt the very clear limitations from the Bruen opinion (reaffirming Heller before it). Many of the newly enacted restrictions in New York were recently stopped dead by injunctions issued by federal district courts for the virulently anti-gun Second Circuit.

Despite this, in another doomed effort to strangle gun carry rights clearly acknowledged by Bruen, New Jersey's anti-Bruen bills (A4769 and S3214) are being rammed through the General Assembly and Senate, doubling down on New York's already enjoined unconstitutional statutes while also sweeping knives, and all other "weapons," in with their inane and unenforceable attack on firearm carry.

How New Jersey thinks that including knives and other commonly carried tools and sports equipment in these bills is a good idea is beyond us. But, it's New Jersey and they just can't stand being second worst to New York and California and they have never thought they needed to abide by the Bill of Rights.

If you live in New Jersey or work in New Jersey please use Knife Rights' Legislative Action Center to quickly and easily email your Assemblyperson that will vote on the bill Thursday and to email the members of the New Jersey Senate Law and Public Safety Committee, who are expected to hear the bill Thursday as well.

The first time an officer tries to arrest a tradesman for carrying a hammer or screwdriver, every union in the world is going to jam the court system right up. I would really like to see the entire State shut down because nobody will build or repair anything, saying it's too risky to carry tools.

But then, I enjoy watching institutions burn, so I may have some unrealistic expectations.

Such a bizarre mentality. Ban criminals, not inanimate objects. That dates back thousands of years. This seems an endorsement of criminals, really. Apologies if this is controversial.

To play devils advocate in most areas of jersey no one bats an eye to 90% of the dumb or illegal shit going on.

Any knife owner out there that doesn't support gun rights? Because this is another example of how knife rights are linked hand in hand with the 2A and guns.

In Texas, it is legal to openly carry, in public, about any blade, folder or fixed.

In discussions about the Second Amendment, critics often assert that the language only applies to the arms commonly used in the 1700s. Swords, daggers and other knives were in common usage at that time. in addition to firearms.

In my view, the" right to keep and bear arms" has got to extend to cutlery.

Well aware of that PIT state called N.J. Rated one of the worst state along with Hawaii and California in Guns&Ammo article last month concerning gun laws. Now knives too! Must be loaded with Democraps!

I live in Delaware which many NJ folks are moving to because they can't take the laws and taxes of that state anymore. The NJ population has been increasing because of the inflows of New Yorkers who have had enough with the crazy NY laws and taxes.

That argument makes no sense to begin with, if that were the case, the first amendment would only apply to speech and printed word, and not to something like the internet which clearly it does. The founding fathers weren't stupid, they knew technology would change, but the core values the nation presents should not change regardless of how each amendment in the bill of rights manifests itself in the future technologically speaking. But I get what you're trying to say that they're being inconsistent with their arguments.

kafolarbear, I think that VorpelSword was advocating for a wider interpretation of the second amendment

That's fine as long as they don't keep voting for the same garbage that they left behind but unfortunately they seem to not see the correlation.

I'm driving down into Ewing Township on November 12th. (Olphart reunion for Rider's Class of '78)
So can I legally carry my Mnandi in my pocket to the party?

I see it as - *those people* consider their work done and are now moving to take over new territory.
It worked like a charm out West - people thought the scum from California was moving to places like Colorado and Arizona and New Mexico to escape....

Ends up, they were moving to those places to conquer instead

The scum is spreading, not escaping..
