Beautiful knife! And great strategy on Doug's part too. I know Ethan was just completely enamored of mine. He was impressed when I not only just threw it into the fray at the knife challenge when four other knives had already been wrecked, but actually handed it to the friend who had the misfortune of choosing three knives in a row that weren't up to the task. Saying something along the lines of "here, try it with a real knife" The challenge had ground to a hault due to the failures, and questions had arrisen as to whether or not they had gone beyond reasonable expectation of the knives. Heck, they were just cutting bamboo and making shelters. At the time I had no idea whose knives had faled, and that friend had used my Camp Knife before. I knew the knife, and I knew the individual, I had no worries. Andrew took it and chopped through the bamboo repeatedly, Moose took it and chopped through the bamboo, joints and all (it was rather large bamboo), Ethan did the same, the edge was inspected, and the challenge went forward with only one more failure. Ethan said, "this knife can't be in the challenge though, the blade is too long". (Damn a Duke would have been PERFECT for it) I said "I know, it's not, it's my personal knife". Ethan smiled and walked away whittling with it, and I didn't see it again for a while. Then the next gathering he played with it for a while again. Doug and Ethan are friends, and Ethan is a big supporter of Knife Rights. I doubt he has forgotten that blade, even as old and forgetful as he is getting to be , So, I imagine Ethan has made a few entries in this himself

They really are. I love to listen to Doug's impassioned speeches. It's past time for me to renew things anyway, this is a great way to do it.
