I have been becoming increasingly frusturated w/ various state and local laws that violate my God given 2nd amendment protected right to self defense/RTKB. Most annoyingly, the fact that many or most states that honor my FL carry permit only alloy me to carry a pistol there and not another form of weapon. Like i guess if I get attacked near a crowd of people they want me to send bullets flying rather than use edged or impact weapon, or they don't want me to have an option of parity of force w/ a potentially less lethal weapon. It makes me sick to my stomach! Besides that, there are rarely state preemption regarding knives and other weapons and it is just generally a confusing maze of ambiguous restrictive arbitrary laws.

What do we think about knife rights.org? Sort of like the NRA for knives I guess? Are they any good really? Are there any competing organizations?

Happily, I see that NH has a proposed law to remove their stupid archaic restrictions on daggers, switchblades, dirks etc.

By its accomplishments, Kniferights has distinguished itself as the premier organization fighting politically for the rights of knife owners. But, it is a young organization. It has limited resources and so it can not be expected to tackle all issues all at once immediately. I think kniferights has huge potential and I'm proud to be a member and supporter.

I'm a member, participated in the rush against the customs ban, and await whatever they get involved in next. If the NH ban goes down with the group's help, it's an interesting little tidbit other peaceful areas may look into. I do wish I could get more updates on the group and what they're building up resource wise, little signs of progress would be encouraging.

AKTI (American Knife & Tool Institute) is another great organization, who just this past year made the definition of a switchblade not include assisted openers in the great state of Texas. If I recall correctly, knife rights did lend a helping hand, having trouble keeping track. My advice is to join both...
