Many of you know about Knife Rights and the work it does to amend knife laws throughout our country. It’s President, Doug Ritter, works tirelessly to promote our rights to own, carry and use all types of knives. Knife Rights annual fundraiser “Ultimate Steel” receives donated knives from many top custom makers as well as production knife companies. I know many of the custom makers who frequent here give generously to Knife Rights. The Grand Prize each year is a trip to Africa with Tollie’s African Safaris. I was fortunate enough to win this trip and want to let everyone know it is the real deal. I took my son last month and it was truly the trip of a lifetime for him. He loved South Africa so much he said he wants to move there. Thought I would share some pics of the property, lodging and hunts while also giving props to Knife Rights and the work it does on our behalf.
For those interested, the current Ultimate Steel is going on now and Tollies Safaris has donated another 7 day hunting trip.
The lodging at Tollie’s is top notch
Food and hospitality - Tollie Jordaan and his family made us feel like one of the family from day one.
Property and Hunting – The Jordaan property is over 200K acres of wide open mountains. The landscape and scenery is simply stunning.
My son hunted Black Wildebeest
Kudu
It took 8 local guys over 2 hours to get Kudu off the mountain. You can see the truck in the valley below. All of them shared the meat for their efforts - giving back to the local community.
Gemsbok
Springbok
Impala: One of the coolest things we did is to donate the Impala to the local orphanage, which the Jordaan family supports. My son delivered the meat and we also brought fidget spinners from the US for each of the kids. This helps show what hunting does for the local communities in Africa.
