Knife Rights’ Virginia Switchblade Ban Repeal Bill, SB 758, previously passed by the Senate unanimously, has now been passed by the House 96-3. Knife Rights’ record of bipartisan support for our non-partisan campaign to end irrational restrictions on knives continues to produce results. Now, it’s up to the Governor.

Our sincere thanks and congratulations to sponsor Senator Todd Pillion for his efforts that have resulted in passage of SB 758.

Knife Rights had led the effort to repeal switchblade bans or restrictions in 18 states, starting with New Hampshire in 2010. Repeals have since been enacted in Alaska, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin.

Altogether, Knife Rights’ efforts have resulted in 34 bills enacted repealing knife bans in 23 states and over 150 cities and towns since 2010.

yay. It has been that Virginia was ok on guns but not knives.

The laws changed here in Texas a few years back. Now it is legal to carry about anything that cuts. About the same for firearms too.

That's great news! And good timing, since Virginia's new governor seems to embrace individual liberty (as all public servants should).

Well done! I may be moving to Virginia soon, so that'll be very nice. When you say it's up to the Governor now, does it require his signature, or will it become law as long as he doesn't veto it?

He would need to veto it.

Awesome, I've been paranoid about my Infidel for so long! That she only opens letters and such. Now my cheese at work too!

I moved from Wisconsin to Virginia and that was disappointing that I couldn't legally carry an auto. I moved back to Wisconsin last year so all good now, but this makes me happy for friends still living in Virginia. Thanks much KnifeRights for the work you've done in both states and continue to do!
