knife roll?

My knife roll is from Hickory Hill and is very well made, made more for small to medium sized folders as the spacing is not generous enough for larger folders.

I'll second the Hickory Hill on quality.

What kind of knives are you wanting to store? The ones from Hickory Hill that I have seen are great for multiblades, but like timsclips stated not so good for larger knives

I got one of the multi-knife cases from Bill's Custom Cases - available at One Stop. Quality is very good and the padding is substantial. The widest knife I can fit is 2 3/4 inches wide - I originally thought that the pouches would be too narrow, but it handles my medium-sized spydercos just fine. The only minus is that you can only see a little bit of the knife - great for protection, but if you want to look at things you actually have to pull them out. TAD gear carries a case with clear windows, so you can see the whole knife. I think the TAD pouches are a bit wider, as well.

Tohatchi NM also makes a good suggestion. I brought a Bill's duffel that holds 9 of the 12 packs a few years ago and it and all the packs are well made offering even better protection than a knife roll. You can also load the middle section with 3 12 packs that handle the largest of folders.

The sort of knives I'd need to store are large bowies, so the smaller rolls or cases probably won't work.

Oh - Bills makes a nice single-knife case as well. Again, good build quality and very well padded. I have the largest one offered by 1SKS. It's got about an inch of padding, and ends up being cylindrical. There are two handy straps so you can put the knife in the case and attach the sheath to the outside.
