Knife Rolls

I was given a knife roll last christmas, it says 'thr ultimate edge' on the bag. It was difficult finding me a bag since I have knives with 12" blades, but this bag fit all my knives fairly well. It holds about 8 knives.

Something that will hold all the gear you need, easy to access, and robust to protect your steel.

In the style that only covers the handles, what protects the blades from cutting the roll or from banging against one another?

normally simple plastic sleeves will protect them quite well, plus the top "flap" of the roll covers the blades and helps prevent them from moving when rolled up taught.

I have a messermeister one i got off amazon. It has 8 slots which is enough for me, a strap for easier carrying, a zip flap to keep the knives securely in, and the outsideof the flap has places for things like pens, thermometer, other small utensils. The biggest thing for me was the zip flap. you'lll still want some kind of blade cover or saya to to protect the edges and ensure they can't cut through the bag, though i admittedly dont use them

it basically looks like this, though i dont think this is the EXACT one.

here's a link to the exact one but it doesn't show the inside: http://www.amazon.com/Messermeister...88196&sr=8-2&keywords=messermeister+knife+bag

I like rolls that only expose the handle. butcherbaker.com makes really nice stuff.
