does anyone know if special licensing or permits are needed to sell knives in Kentucky? Specifically Madison county. I'm looking to open an outdoor shop with a strong bent on knives. Web searches have been of no help. Thanks.

I seriously doubt it but do your research, maybe call another store that sells knives. We have stores where you can buy guns, beer and country ham all in the same place. :)

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me Hoopster, and I see knives for sale at every crappy little store and gas station I go into. Just trying to do my homework. what made me even think about it was going onto cold steels sight, I want to carry their tomahawks for throwing and to be a dealer they ask for your federal arms license. I never have owned a knife that shoots bullets. but I've also never owned a knife shop, so what do I know?

I dunno either, but there are beaucoup eBay dealers selling CS hawks, and I'd say its safe to say they don't have FFLs.

It would be worth a little bit of coinage to get a lawyer to answer that question, and maybe set you up as corporate entity. Unless, of course, you prefer to rely on free legal advice from a bunch of goofballs on the internet. Myself included.

wouldn't like to guess but let us now when your open because the choices aint much right now and i'll be over.
