knife scales pricing

Really depends on the knife model and the resulting complexity. Nested liners? Hand grooved? Two component due too brittleness?

Material cost also varies.

A scale for a folder, good tolerances and impecable finish should and may cost between 70 and 140 dollars depending on the complexity and material.

A good target price for a PM2, scales only, non-grooved I would say 90 dollars including installation and shipping within CONUS.

Also depends what knife it is made for. a common knife can be less and a uncommon model more. My ZT0300 was very hard to find a scale and backspacer. I have seen them as low as $25 all the way to over $100.

I have a pm2 and a benchmade griptillian

Both of those knives require scales made with precision due to the nested liners and moving parts. Scales are available between $50-150. It all depends on what you want and who you want it from. Bladeforums has multiple scale makers here that list their services in the marketplace.

You get what you pay for. Remember that.

I would really like a set for my benchmade but if they are around 70 i probably wont get any unless someone is selling somebthey dont want anymore

Your best bet would be to post in the "want to buy" section of the exchange that you want a used set of scales in good condition for your model knife. You can also do an advanced search for sales threads containing your model knife and see if anyone is/was selling scales that didnt sell, you might be able to pick them up for less then they were asking, if they are still just sitting on them.

But keep in mind, you may ha e to pay for a membership to do this. I am not sure as I see the cost trivial compared to the community and wealth of information, the exchange doesn't hurt either.

Welcome aboard!
