How critical is it to stabilize knife scales? I am working on my first knife only to read where they should be stabilized. I didn't do that. How critical is it? And if it is, is there some really easy novice way to do that?
It really depends on the wood. Some should be stabilized and some just don't need it. Best results are to have it done professionally or just buy already stabilized material.
