Hi Guys,

I would like some suggestions as I am preparing to purchase another EDC folder in the $500 range.

I already have a large Sebenza and like it (however, i do not think it is the be-all, end-all in folders). I tried an XM-18 3.5 and it didn't really do it for me.

Requirements are 3.5 to 4" blade of quality steel and preferrable Ti frame and scales.

Thanks,

Ben

IMO- A.G. Russell Acies. They are sufficiently dissimilar. I happen to prefer the Acies as a high quality EDC.

Thanks for all your feedback!!

Just an update, bought a CRK Umnumzaan with the Tanto edge from True North Knives.

I figured I liked my large Classic Sebenza so much, what could be the downside? I thought the tanto blade would be "different" enough from the Sebbie.

Bravo

How are you liking the tanto Umnumzaan? I'm always torn between the Umnum and Sebenza.

I definitely and diggin it. It has also made me really appreciate the Sebbie a bit more. I think the Sebbie will be a bit easier to carry since it is smoother and a bit less chunky. I think they both have earned their place in my edc line-up.

However, I am in love with the CRK tanto blade and will be purchasing a Large Sebbie with the Tanto as they become available from True North Knives, since it is an exclusive.

The CRK Tanto on the Zaan is really something, super thick and heavy, but amazing grinds and thick (but razor sharp) tip. The XM-18 3.5 I just sold has nothing on this blade.
