I would appreciate any advice regarding laws on selling/shipping balisongs, push knives, etc. to different states and age of buyer.

On ebay its common to see the clause: "by bidding buyer is aware of state/fed laws regarding possesion/ownership.......and is 18yrs old.

Is this sufficient or am I responsible for being aware of the different State laws and verifying age?

i dont know all the laws and what have you,but im 17 and buy knives all the time from folks here on the forums.never had a problem at all.

Issues of interstate commerce fall under federal law. The only federal law on the books bans the interstate transfer of automatic knives except to a dealer or between a dealer and a government agency buying with a purchase order.

There is a law banning the importation, not only of auto knives, but others including butterflies. That's an issue of importation, not interstate commerce.

All kinds of states also ban all kinds of different knives but that relates to the ownership, use etc. of knives in that state and, again, isn't related to issues of interstate commerce. The only federal law I know relating to interstate commerce involves automatic knives as mentioned above. Take care.
