Michael Janich, author of "Knife Fighting: A Practical Course," "Street Steel," the "Fighting Folders" video series, and Contributing Editor to Tactical Knives magazine will be conducting a two-day seminar in Grove City, Ohio on 2-3 April 2005. The seminar will present accelerated instruction in Levels 1 and 2 of Janich's Martial Blade Concepts (MBC) curriculum and provide hands-on instruction in all the critical skills of standard-grip blade tactics, high-speed knife deployment, and reflex training drills. In addition to two 8-hour blocks of instruction, all first-time seminar participants will receive a Masters of Defense folding training knife (based on their Model 875) and a neoprene arm guard.

Because so many MBC alumni have expressed interest in ongoing training, this accelerated seminar will also include an advanced workshop for Level 1 and 2 graduates. This parallel structure is designed to focus on the key combative elements of the MBC system, allowing allowing beginning students to develop usable defensive knife skills in the shortest possible time while simultaneously refining and expanding the combative skills of returning alumni.

In addition to knife tactics, this seminar will include cross training in selected elements of Janich's Counter-Blade Concepts (empty-hand defenses against knives) curriculum and empty-hand-to-weapon transitions that support knife, handgun, and less-lethal weapon deployment.

This seminar will be conducted at Grove City Karate, 4068 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123, approximately 10 miles from Columbus, Ohio. Tuition for first-time students is $300.00 and includes a Masters of Defense training knife and a protective armguard (together a $175.00 value). Tuition for alumni is $150.00. To register, please contact Michael Janich at 303-995-8848 or e-mail info@martialbladeconcepts.com. Enrollment is limited.
