KNIFE SERRATIONS

The serrations on a knife, such as the 932 Slicer, are not symmetrical with respect to the right and left sides of the blade. Does that indicate that the knife is more efficient when used by a right-handed person?

Joking aside, I have given this some thought. I think the question needs asked in a different way. Given that the serrations are asymmetric on the edge, is it more efficient to have the serrations on the outboard or inboard face of the cut? I say outboard would give a cleaner cut.

The serrations on the 932 are on the outboard of the cut if held by a right-handed person working from right to left on the end/edge of a loaf of bread or roast. If there is a difference in efficiency, I'm sure that it is designed for a right-handed person. Once again, the 10% of us who are left-handed have to adapt to a right-handed world.

I was lookin at my 932. yep these serrated scallops are setup for right hand use. left hand side are chisel edged setup. so the serrated points would work but not as well I'd think as the beveled scalloped side and points...never tried it left yet. I have used emersons setup for left hand or show picture side on their chisel edge and it cuts far better using the left hand than than the right, but still cuts right handed okay. will try my 932 left handed though next time I use it.
