Hello guys, I would like to know what you sharpening your knife used.

Sorry for my bad english iam from Austria but i think it is better then Arnies? or not:confused:

Hey, I just came back home (U.S.) from a three week business trip in Hannover and Frankfurt. Cloudy & rainy the whole time.

I use a Spyderco Sharpmaker. Its fast, easy, and VERY effective.

I also use the Sharpmaker as my primary sharpener. I have tried the Gatco clamp sharpening system and don't much care for it. For problem blades, I use the DMT diamond whetstones (Coarse, Fine and Extra Fine), but I'm no expert in free-hand sharpening. That's why I usually prefer the automatic angles offered by the Sharpmaker (if used with proper technique).

I use an Edge Pro Apex for primary sharpening and a Spyderco Sharpmaker for touch ups.

Hi red Bull,

ich hab schon Diverses ausprobiert, inkl. Spyderci sharpmaker, Wassersteinen, Schleifpapier, Fällkniven DC4, und Diamantkärtchen von DMT. Irgendwie mag ich mich wohl nicht festlegen ;).

Gruß,

Andre

I use the Edge-Pro Professional, and the WEPS.:thumbup:

The Lansky "Crock Sticks," and strops (both leather and balsa) are used for minor touch ups.

Ive got a smith double sided sharpening stone from Walmart. For 20$ or whatever it was it works great and keeps my knives hair shaving sharp.

I'm going to buy a sharpmaker and a leather strope soon tho.

I had a Spyderco Sharpmaker until i received a knife in trade that was sharpened on an Edge Pro Apex. After that i was sold.... I picked up a nice one from a forum member, keep your eyes open because they do come up for sale or trade from time to time. Here are some pix of my results...

Thank you for your nice comments!

@fotobaerchi richtig schlau bin ich nicht geworden aber ich denke ich werde mich mal nach dem Spyderco Sharper umsehen? Danke

The shaprmaker is easy to use, but sharpening freehanded is much more fun.

Andre

I use the Smith tri hone system .... $30 US, and the spyderco sharpmaker for micro bevels/ touchups. I wouldn't mind getting a edge pro apex .
