I have a couple Emerson, Hinderer, Benchmade and Spyderco knives that need to be sharpened!

I need to find some professional knife sharpeners who are dedicated to what they do!

I have tried searching on instagram but have found no one who I am comfortable sending all of these knives too. We are talking about $3,000 of knives getting shipped all at once here. I need someone trust worthy!

Please let me know who can sharpen these type of knives.. I am specifically worried about my Emerson and Hinderer Knives being sharpened.

Thank you everyone!!!!!!! :)

When I don't do it myself... and that's my first suggestion - learn to sharpen your own knives... but when I don't do it myself I use Razor Edge Knives. Josh does a fine job on everything from basic sharpening t regrinding to mods & repairs.

I agree with dale on this. Your going to pay someone "x" amount of money to sharpen "3 grand worth" of knives? I can guarantee your money will be better spent purchasing a Edge Pro or Wicked Edge system and making the knife your own, by putting your own bevel on it ?

You can find a variety of folks who offer sharpening services here on the forum. Go look in the Knife Makers for Sale forum and it should list several other sub forums which will have the services.

If you are worried about sending your knives to a professional then you may not be looking at the right professionals.

Emersons and Hinderers are an everyday thing at my bench as with many orther professionals.

I would be very Leary of YouTube and instagram "Pro's".

Yup! Pick one of these few guys here if you are unwilling to learn yourself. I say do an eeny-meeny-miny with the three guys mentioned above. I can't imagine ever paying someone to sharpen a knife, but I understand there are some who don't like getting their hands dirty. I have a friend like that. He actually has an Edge Pro with Chosera stones. And I've instructed him how to use it several times. But he continues to have me sharpen his knives. LOL.

I don't know what city you live in but due to the popularity of Sushi restaurants many cities or even towns have a Japanese knife sharpener of some sort who does traditional stone sharpening. Try searching for that in your area. The results I got from mine were spectactar.

I will second what others have said and suggest you learn to sharpen yourself. You'll find it rewarding, and you won't have to worry about babying your knives because you know you can just resharpen yourself without having to ship them off. Just take the plunge!

As mentioned above... forum members JasonB or razor-edge-knives. (Does Heavyhanded offer a sharpening service?)
I personally wouldn't ship $3000 worth of knives at once...

For sharpening I'm mostly local - on the forum I prefer to advocate for the Washboard, there's no shortage of talent around here.

I will do mail service on request though.

REALLY!!? A Japanese knife sharpener?? Yeah, that would be MUCH better, because I think all the people listed so far are just lowly American sharpeners! HAHAHAHAHA! LOL!!

I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. I understand what you meant, of course. Just sounded funny when first reading. But I still think using the known people on the forum is the way to go.

Jason, Josh, Martin--these guys are all excellent. There are more I missed b/c there really is a lot of talent on this forum.

I do a lot myself (and I'm still learning), but I can tell you that I have sent a butt-load of knives to Josh at REK and he's awesome. Small sharpenings, busted tips, detent modification on a Hinderer Fatty, reprofiles--those are a few things Josh has done for me over the past several months and each time I was more than satisfied. Super cool guy, professional, trustworthy and fast!

I just meant a sharpening service that uses Japanese traditional methods. If you can find an American (or any) knife sharpener in your area that is fine too. All I was saying is that you could try looking for a Japanese style sharpener which I have had excellent results with.

I know, I know. :p Just sounded funny when I first read it. I said
I understood what you were trying to say. Was just joking around Lapedog. I knew you didn't ACTUALLY mean a Japanese person, my friend.
