how good of an edge can you get with the new clamp style sharpeners?

I have a Landsky Dianond sharpener, and it will get your blade edge scarey sharp if thats your desire. However, it does take a little practice to get used to this type of system.

Better than almost any factory edge. I also have a Lansky.

Can the lansky sharpen recurved edges like an X-O Lite? Also, can it sharpen serrated edges? Thanks.

Yes Lansky has a hone that they make for serrated edges that goes with the clamp system. Alot of people also really like the Spyderco 204 for serrations. Both will also work on recurves.
