Can anyone recommend a good blade smith ? It looks like Josh at Razor edge is not doing it anymore. I'm looking for services similar to what he offered like sharpening , regrinding , polishing , stripping.

Thanks,

I have a BB13 that I would like sharpened . For some reason this knife is the hardest to sharpen that I have ever owned. Thanks!

I use a Ken onion work sharp with the grinding attachment. It has always worked really well on all my knives of various steels but not the BB13.

I would strop it in sections with varying grits of compound or use rods on it in varying grits of diamond and ceramic.

A tip that may help is to keep the blade completely perpendicular to the belt at all times. This requires you to rotate the blade through the recurve as the angle will change across the recurve. This is the same thing you would have to do on a sharpening stone as well, so it should apply here also.

i'm not sure i understand completely. when using my KO system (so far unsuccessfully) i try to keep the contact point of the blade at the same angle as i pull it through, stopping the belt when the tip gets to the middle of the belt.
is that what you mean?

Not the same angle, but you must turn the blade clockwise/counterclockwise so that the point you are grinding is always perpendicular to the belt.

I'm pretty sure that's what I do. when grinding the flat, the handle's level of a wharncliffe, the handle would stay at the same angle. in a blade with a belly, I lift the the handle to keep them part of the blade touching the belt at right angles to the direction of belt motion,. angle between belt and blade is angle I want to grind the blade.
