(not sure if this is where to put this)
I've noticed a surprising amount of knife knuts here get their knives sharpened by professional sharpeners. So, I figured this may help some of you!
I'm doing a giveaway, free sharpening for life! (provided you pay shipping) No limit to how many knives or anything, and I can sharpen anything but salon shears. I sharpen by hand, and produce some pretty nice mirror edges. To enter, just post a picture of your dullest knife on this thread and say "I'm in!"

Not an entry.

Very cool offer, but me sharpening my knives is just part of my owning and using knives. Still, quite a generous gift.

Hi Rennd I was just wondering why you are doing this give away? do you sharpen knives as work or is it just a hobby?

It's kinda a combination of both. Mostly, I'd just like to get a chance to sharpen some more knives. I get a couple customers locally, but not often. I mostly just like sharpening.

I am not interested in participating since I do my sharpening myself. A generous offer though but my first thought was: any references (at least pictures of sharpened edges, comments from previous customers, some info about your method etc.), or even better a quick video with some results (cutting TB paper for instance). You joined the BF just a month ago so I believe that people with their custom knives would rather hesitate.

Only two days left!
In reference to what awestib said - I suppose I could seem a little suspicious. I can assure you, though, my intent isn't to steal anybody's knives. I have my account on a certain popular auction site, "alexanderkatelin", where I've done sharpening and recieved some positive feedback. It's mostly been on straight razors, but I specialize in knives.

You're certainly welcome! I love the steel becker uses, it sharpens up beautifully with the right equipment.

What method do you use to sharpen your knives?
By hand, or a fixed system, etc?
And great idea for a give away.

I go by hand, using papers, stones, strops... A little bit of everything. I can do all kinds of edges, but my convex edges are what I really take pride in. My v edges are still mirrored and high performance, though!

Hey Rennd, I got to thinking about it and, I'm going to bow out of this, I won't appreciate it as much as someone, uh, shall we say sharpening-challenged. ;) Thanks for the offer though.....
