Knife sharpening

I know own and use many knives. From spydercos, ZTs, benchmades. The only problem, and that I have no way to put an edge back on. I want to be able to put a mirror edge on. I am very bad with any type of free hand sharpening I have tried many times and I just can't seem to get it. I don't really have a price range. So the number one objective is to put a mirror edge on any suggestions!

Start out with a Sharpmaker. Also spend some time reading the sticky messages on knife sharpening here.

If you're bad at free hand...you're simply not doing it right.

get an old blade and a soft and hard Arkansas stone, practice them it is as simple as following the rules. learn to feel when the bevel rides on the stone, one side till you raise a burr, flip and when the burr reverses swap to the hard and do equal strokes till the burr is gone, if you never raise a burr you wont get it sharp. stick with the stones there is nothing better, if I cant carry it around with me I don't want it for my knives. I use different stones for my razors.
